Workflow JSON
A manual n8n example that keeps job state separate from status responses.
For freelance n8n builders
Development preview · Free private evaluation
Start a job. Check its progress. Handle what comes back. Practise the pattern with an editable n8n workflow and a simulated API before adapting it to your project.
No signup or payment. Evaluation licence included. An independent setup trial is still pending.

Inside the preview
Follow the workflow, run synthetic scenarios, and use the notes to understand what needs changing for a real API.
A manual n8n example that keeps job state separate from status responses.
Practise with synthetic jobs. No paid API account or credentials required.
Docker Compose files, a local editor gateway, and setup instructions.
Inspect failed jobs, missing data, HTTP errors, poll limits, and deadlines.
Map the example to your provider’s endpoints, fields, and status values.
Read the recorded outcomes, version details, and handover worksheet.
Check the edges
A successful first request is only the beginning. Inspect what happens when the next response loses context, the job fails, or the wait goes on too long.
Read the original polling investigation →A valid result reaches the success branch.
A terminal failure stops with an explicit error.
The poll count or elapsed deadline stops an unfinished job.
Before you start
The primary demo is self-hosted. n8n Cloud and other n8n versions have not been verified.
The recorded tests used synthetic workflow variants imported into n8n and executed through its CLI, with request-log checks. Clipboard import and four manual editor cases were also checked: completion, failed job, poll-limit exhaustion, and elapsed-deadline exhaustion. An independent clean-setup trial is still pending.
The archive includes the compatibility record and test evidence. These results do not establish production reliability.
